THURSDAY DECEMBER 20

It was a bit of a frustrating day today where I seened to be getting out of what I thought was going to be a bad trade only to see it immediate;y move in my favour once I'd took a loss.I managed a profit of 92 but wish I could have had more confidence to sit on a position for longer. It is obviously better to take a small loss that see your stake dissappear very quickly but at the same time it doesn't really help confidence when you keep seeing small losing positions that you've taken transform into profitable trades within seconds of getting out.

All part of the eternal learning process I'm sure.

I will be back Saturday and will aim to get a few of these right--perhaps take a little more risk

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 19

I managed a few more trades today and reached 84 profit before I'd had enough.Christmas is fast approaching and I have lots to do so will be playing tomorrow but not Friday.

Again I left the pre-race markets alone and just played a bit in-running with my bets result being in the very first race of the day where I made 33.

Back tomorrow

TUESDAY DECEMBER 18

Today must go down as my very quietest trading day ever.

I've literally had only five trades in the whole day which added up to a profit of 69.It wasn't that I didn't see anything else, just that once again I could not get matched once I deceided where to go.My connection is fine so I can only assume that I'm being a bit slow pressing the button.I had little enthusiasm for the pre-race markets as the racetimes were yet again all messed up.This has quite an effect on theses markets and they can be very stale on days like this.

Looks like tomorrow may be better so here's hoping

MONDAY DECEMBER 17

A tough day for me.I backed a faller in-running which cost me 140 and never really got going after that.

With the Ayr meeting being off it was never going to be a cruise today, but I am still dissappointed to be in the red to the tune of 96 by the end.I must say it's been a little difficult of late to get my bets matched in-running----not sure if my connection is a little slow at the moment.Must check it tomorrow.

SUNDAY DECEMBER 16

A small profit of 52 today with only really Kempton to work on.I tried to get on a couple of winners in-running but now that I don't put orders in at 1.01 it's harder to get matched. The trouble with those 1.01 bets is that you often see the horse trading at 2.5 or so and end up getting matched at 1.2 or something stupid.Once that's happened you have no hope of trading out and if the horse loses you are out of pocket in exchange for a very small potential profit.

The Irish racing was better quality but I find my pictures are even further behind than the ATR domestic racing.

Hopefully Ayr will be on tomorrow and I'll have a good chance of making a few quid.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 15

Today ended up quite a quiet day for me.It's often hard to get bets matched in-running and today was one of those days.Several opportunities for profit got away as I couldn't get the price I was asking for.

That said I managed a profit of 118 with a little help from X-factor where I laid Rhydian to win for 50.I know he was the best of the two finalists but I guessed he'd struggle for phone votes.

Hopefully we won't lose too many meetings this coming week

FRIDAY DECEMBER 14

Well, today was going to be pre-race only but from the very start things were a shambles. With Doncaster being off why the HELL do the powers that be have 3 races going off within 10 minutes and then a lull in trading for the next.

It makes it nigh-on impossible to concentrate on pre-race when you're permanently hunting for the action. It seems to me that the TV have more say than the Racing Authorities.

Anyway, maybe I'm being a bit sour because I made only a tiny profit of 13 today.I hadn't done much form stuff in the morning as I wanted to concentrate on the pre-race markets so I didn't get overly involved. The one race I lost fairly heavily on was the Cheltenham 12.45 where I laid Joe Lively about 1/2mile out thinking he would get caught but he stayed on well to win--a nice performance that.

Tomorrow I will concentrate on Cheltenham and see if I can put a better light on my profit figures for the week.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 13

Today was okay if not great.I made 79 profit after a fairly up-and-down sort of day.I had to rely on the evening to finally get into profit after a couple of poor trades early on.But I just stuck to the task and clawed the losses back slowly.I don't want any big losses just before Christmas--that's for sure.

Tomorrow I'll have a day of pre-race trading I think as there should be a bit of money around with Doncaster and Cheltenham.

WEDNESDAY DECEMBER 12

Another small profit today(65).This isn't exactly filling the christmas coffers but I suppose it's better than emptying them.

The afternoon was hard with me not really seeing the pre-race markets properly and Southwell being newly laid and running very slow.It wasn't so easy to predict styles of running.

I didn't play the evening although I do like Kempton but the mist put me off as i like to see the full race so I saved myself for tomorrow which will hopefully reap better rewards

MONDAY DECEMBER 10

It wasn't a good day for me today.I didn't seem to be firing properly and although I made a bit of a profit from my in-running stuff it wasn't enough to offset the losses I made pre-race.

The day ended up in the red to the tune of 106 which wasn't exactly what I could do with on the run up to christmas.

I won't be playing tomorrow as I have been seconded to go shopping with my better half.Probably a good thing lookingh at the way things went today.

Back for a full day/evening tomorrow though
